Chill Out Restaurant Huanchaco

by Justin on June 19, 2010

Huanchaco Restaurant, The Chill OutWas just browsing the web looking for mentions of us and I was really pleased to find this great review in the Viva Online Travel Guide of our Huanchaco Restaurant. I thought I would put a copy of it here. The restaurant has changed a bit since this review but very much for the better.

Our restaurant now has arguably the only authentic Indian Curry in Peru and we are delighted to welcome both residents and non residents to this hotspot Huanchaco Restaurant.

Chill Out may be the most appropriately named destination on the north coast. Entering into a small courtyard, where an above ground pool sits dry just begging to be filled with water to become the center of attention, there’s little doubt that anything other than chilling out is exactly what happens here.

To read the original review you can visit the Viva website by clicking on the link.

Situated around the pool are two low tables surrounded by heavily cushioned wicker chairs and couches, a few racks filled with English magazines, and plenty of candles, plants and funky lights to gawk at. Inside, a giant TV is the big draw, in addition to the huge selection of DVDs that includes movies as well as televisions series.

Kick off your shoes and cozy up on the mattresses and pillows at one of the three tables and order from a menu that offers various burger-fry-soda combinations for $2-3.50, as well as a variety of mains and munchies. Don’t let the uber-relaxed atmosphere fool you when it comes to the food and service, however. Run by a young friendly couple, the service is quick, the water free, the food fresh and fast and the napkins linen. Slightly classy and super comfortable, Chill Out is a good stop for a nightcap during an old episode of “Friends,” or a good hearty meal on a quiet patio. Open Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-noon, 7-11 p.m.
